So I was reading this article on Vice, I was thinking, what do you guys think? Especially those that already own a switch, before deciding to also buy a steam deck?
Here are some excerpts from the article too.

Steam Deck broadens the definition of “PC gamer,” making it less about how much you spent on a GPU and more about PC gaming’s other benefit: freedom.
Steam Deck is the anti-Switch, the opposite of Nintendo’s locked down fortress. I say that as someone who deeply loves Nintendo games, but in the same month that Nintendo announced it’s shutting down the eShop on the Wii U and 3DS without a path forward for thousands of games to be playable on other devices, I look at the Steam Deck, a machine that could probably run those games if I jumped through hoops, and smiled. Even in a world where Steam shuts down tomorrow, the device still works. You could just install Windows.

Of course, even Nintendo’s devices are, eventually, easily hackable to do whatever you want, even to play games Nintendo would prefer you buy for the 10th time. But that’s an exploit.
