My e-mail to Steamdeck customer service (please see below)
I purchased a steamdeck 64GB and I purchased eldenring. I Purchased a Lexar PLAY 1TB microSDXC and inserted it into my steamdeck. I keep getting a message saying internal drive not enough space. I thought me purchasing a 1TB microsdxc would give me enough storage to purchase and Download games. What can I do to this resolve this? My steamdeck is only 64GB
Customer service response:
Hi,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We're sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Steam Deck.
Please verify that their SD card is a compatible format whether another compatible machine can read the SD card. Please note that any UHS-I (class 3 or better) microSD card is supported, yet Steam Deck does not support UHS-II.
Upon receiving your reply, we'll assist you further. We appreciate again for your cooperation.
My response: I did verify and yes my SD card is a UHS-I-card. Down below is the description of my SD card. What can I do now to make my steamdeck work?
Customer service response:
What did you set as your default storage device? It looks like the game may have been installed to your SSD, which may not have enough space to accommodate the full installation.
Can you try uninstalling the game completely, setting your SD card as your default in Steam > Settings > Storage, and trying the installation again?
My response:
I tried using both the internal and external drive as default I am still not able to install Elden Ring. I returned my 1TB San disk and now I am currently using a 512 GB San disk. I am getting a message saying that I don’t have enough storage in my internal or external drive to download game. I got the steam about a month ago and I haven’t been able to play it because of this issue it is quite frustrating. Thank you
I also installed Dota 2 on my steamdeck (please see photo that I attached) But the game won’t play. It just says starting launch but the game won’t actually play.
Has anyone experienced similar issues? Any recommendations? Thank you Steamdeck family
