I would love to introduce you to my passion project:
The Deckverse
Most comparable to Digital Foundry, the channel is supposed to offer detailed performance analyses, optimized settings, hardware tweaks and much more. The extensive preparation of the project alone took months of work: A specially written graph translator, which reads accurate MangoHUD logging values is just the tip of the iceberg.
Thanks to more than 15 years of experience as a tech journalist, I look back on an extensive industry contact network, e.g. to people at many game developers. This allows me to get in touch now and then to help out with Steam Deck compatibility optimization: Most recently with People Can Fly and the resulting change of Outriders Steam Deck compatibility.
I plan to produce extensive videos with performance analysis, optimized settings and bug fixes for current bigger releases, as well as shorter content for indies and older games. Since this is currently still a part-time gig, the initial plan is to produce big videos every two weeks and a handful of smaller ones in between.
As soon as I have finished the latest video - an extensive explanation of why the Steam Deck Display's 40Hz is a big deal and what it's all about on the technical side - upcoming content on Cyberpunk 2077 and Red Dead Redemption 2 is already lined up.
In addition, there is a Discord server where already a lot of Steam Deck users hang out and talk about many technical topics on a daily basis. Here you can also suggest games for future content.
I am looking forward to your feedback/support and hope you enjoy my work and your Steam Deck to the fullest!
