That’s a really cool idea. People can make posts that contain the game title; what update it was on when they played it; how well it runned on the deck and if they encountered any problems. They could also give any miscellaneous information as well such as things to disable in the game menu that significantly boost performance or a workaround to some common problem. That way in the future, other people can google the name of the game on this forum and receive all this information.
That being said, I’m pretty sure the ‘game performance’ tab in this forum is intended to be used for that kind of information anyway and hopefully we will see people use it for that when others start to receive their decks.
I agree that ProtonDB can be out of date but it's made to be updated. If you played a game and got it working, leave notes on how you did it in the comments for the next person. That'll help get it out of borked status.
I don't, however think we need yet another way to track games that work well on Steam Deck. Having SteamDeckDB for instance, is just another thing that needs to be maintained. That's the whole purpose of Deck Verified. Sure, there aren't many games added yet. But, more will be added by release and I'm sure Valve will make an effort to get the testing ramped up rapidly. If you want to buy the domain, and scrape games from SteamDB, more power to you. But, for games that aren't even on steam and therefore are excluded from Deck Verified, I think a thread on a site like this one would be more than enough.
I look forward to seeing how the community works to make games work on the Steam Deck, but until we have our hands on, I'll stick to official sources for sure.
