So do I just need to check email once a week?

Do I need to look for an email every day or just once a week when they announce a new batch? I'm stressed about missing my email.

Also could I just check to see if I can order yet which will be easier than dealing with my junky email? Will I order from the same place that it now says "cancel reservation"?

According to Valve, from now on every monday e-mails will be sent out to those waiting for the next wave.

Hi!

Have a great launch day! We noticed that there are questions regarding the 1st quarter reservation group and when people in this group receive their emails. We would like to clarify this here.

  • All customers who are in the 1st quarter time slot on the Steam Deck store page will receive their order prompt email by the end of March. (The 1st quarter or "Q1" runs from January to March).
  • The first batch of emails has already been sent out this morning.
  • The next batch will go out on Monday, March 7. (It turns out that logistics work better if we don't try to send out over the weekend.)T
  • Emails will continue to be sent to 1st quarter pre-orderers on a weekly basis through the end of March (i.e., March 14, March 21, and March 28, respectively) in the order in which reservations were received.
  • In April, we equivalently start with those in the 2nd quarter queue.

We are working according to our production schedules and will soon have news for those pre-ordering the periods after Q2.

However, since this is the launch and no second wave has gone out yet, we do not know whether it will really happen exactly like this, or whether something might change in the short term.

I would just look in the beginning every 2 days to not miss anything and if you see after a few weeks that Valve keeps to the weekly monday rhythm, it is then enough to look on monday evening.

Excellent! Thank you!

Yah I'll check every other day until the system is well established. Just to be safe. I might end up doing that all the way through actually.

BTW, I'm hopeful we will all be earlier than expected. They said that they would ramp up to hundreds off thousands of units a month by April. Things will really be moving if they attain that.
