Hey All,

I'm planning to put together a 4k AMD Mini-ITX Steam Machine basically. R7 7600X (waiting for X3D), RX 7900 XTX, DDR5, etc.

I think my biggest question is around how driver's work. Will I have an issue with using RDNA3? Driver support for a brand new card? Will the custom steam image even be able to leverage the power? Anyone do a build with a 6900 XT or similar?

Sure it would! All it needs is just new amdgpu driver and firmware blobs, nothing more!

I don't quite understand. Would these be things I could get from AMD (like newly released drivers) or is this work required on your side once they are finally released?
I could be wrong but from what I understand most amd drivers are baked into the Linux kernel unlike windows where you have to install them so as the card is released the repositories I imagine would be updated and it would work on its own as far as you're concerned at least lol

I think it might be updating soon, I've been keeping an eye on the telegram. For now I've finally gotten Nobara 37 working with everything and I've been playing there instead 😊

Install for 7900 XTX and my newer Mobo/Processor working mostly out of the box (WiFi was a little finicky)

@HopelessRespawner Hi, have you managed to get it working?
HoloIso was working fine for me with mesa-git (including new LLVM) but I could not get kernel 6.1+ set up.

Any advice would be appreciated.
You got further than I could, this languished for a bit due to hardware issues that I finally worked out but long ago. Beta HoloISO won't even boot the installer on my current setup
