I find it so cheap when such big companies and capable people prefer to threaten people, players of their product, with a ban than to tackle the problem and solve it. Sure it takes effort and work, but in the end you have created something that benefits the player and Bungie could boast with pride for it.

The chosen path is simply lame.

I guess I wont be playing Bungie games any time soon. it's amusing to see who they've decided to have console war with a device that isn't really a console.

I have a question for Bungie. Exactly what console handheld ARE you going to be on?

Bungie's position is a tough but understandable one. The only way to play Destiny 2 on SteamOS requires you to bypass their anticheat, which is OBVIOUSLY not allowed. They can't change the situation, because they're not the ones who make the anticheat, they use BattlEye. While BattlEye does have anticheat products that do work on Deck, their most secure stuff is currently not on Deck. I foresee this being the Deck's biggest challenge, as many AAA games and especially multiplayer games requiring anticheat to work. Until Valve can get low level anticheats working on Deck, this block is gonna be the biggest roadblock to widespread adoption.
